- Indian Citizenship: Hold a valid Indian passport and be an Indian citizen to embark on this sacred journey.
- Age and Fitness: Your age must fall between 18 and 70 years as of January 1st, 2024. Physical fitness and good health are paramount, with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 27 or less being optimal.
- Medical Evaluation: Stringent medical tests conducted by Delhi Heart and Lung Institute and ITBP Base Hospital in New Delhi are mandatory. Selected applicants must qualify these comprehensive examinations.
- Foreign Nationals: Unfortunately, the pilgrimage is not open to foreign nationals, including PIO and OCI card holders.
- Altitude Acclimatization: Be prepared for additional medical tests by ITBP to assess your reaction to altitude trekking. These tests take place at Gunji (Lipulekh Pass) and Sherathang (Nathu La) during the pilgrimage. Failing these tests disqualifies you from continuing.
- Final Medical Authority: The combined findings and recommendations of Delhi Heart and Lung Institute and ITBP medical personnel are final and binding. No other medical reports or certificates are accepted.

- Medical unfitness at any stage results in disqualification and forfeiture of the non-refundable deposit and medical examination fees.
- Medical Tests: Thorough examinations cover parameters like Hemoglobin, TLC, DLC, Blood Sugar (F & PP), Blood Urea, Creatinine, Serum Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT, Blood Group with Rh typing, Lipid Profile, Urine RE, Chest X-ray, TMT, ECG, Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), HbA1c, and Stress-Echo-Test if recommended by a doctor.
- Liaison Officer: Only serving Government officers can be appointed as Liaison Officers. Individuals who have previously participated as Liaison Officers or Yatris are not eligible for this role.
