
Rs 25000 Rupees Subsidy by Chhatisgarh Government to All Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Pilgrims
“Chhattisgarh Mukhyamantri Tirth Yatra Yojana” has been started on December 04, 2012 for senior citizens of 60 years and above for providing free travel of various pilgrimage sites outside the state. Under this scheme senior citizens will be benefited once in their lifetime. In this sequence, Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) are also benifited for travelling pilgrimage sites.
As per the provisions of the Chhattisgarh Nirashriton evam Nirdhan Vyaktiyon ki Sahayata Adhiniyam, 1970 as amended 2010, assistance is being provided for the social and economic rehabilitation of destitute, poor, Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and senior citizens. The Social Welfare Department has been declared as the nodal department for implementing and monitoring the schemes for the welfare of third gender persons. Under skill development programme (Beauty parlor, Catering, Fashion Design, tailoring etc.) a provision of grant-in-aid has been kept for self help groups.
As per provisions of Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act 1995, a fully equipped Regional Rehabilitation Center has been established for the purpose of providing social and economic rehabilitation of the PwDs and providing them resources. The rules have been made for identification of posts and recruitment in Government services for differently abled people.
In order to reduce their disability and to mobilize them, artificial limbs and aid are being provided by organizing camps in every district. Provisions have been kept for free residential education of PwDs, through 19 governmental and 39 voluntary institutions in the state. For social rehabilitation of disabled after their marriage, incentive lump sum amount of 50,000/- is being provided if anyone of wedding couple is disabled and a lump sum amount of 1,00,000/- is provided in case of both amoung couple are disabled, under the Nihshaktjan Vivah Protsahan Yojana.
About 16 lakh 53 thousand persons of BPL aged, PwDs, widows and desserted women are being benefited by various pension schemes run by Social Welfare Department. For protection of senior citizens the Maintenance Tribunal has been constituted at Revenue Sub-divisional Level and Appellate Tribunal at the district level under Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
