Kailash Mansarovar Pilgrimage Visa and Permits
A Tibet visa is required for all pilgrims interested in visiting Kailash Mansarovar. Tibet visas are generally issued for groups, not individuals. This is why you must travel to Tibet in a group. Since Kailash Mansarovar is located in Tibet, you will also need a special Tibetan visa permit for the Mount Kailash pilgrimage.
Chinese and Tibetan visas are different. To visit Tibet or Kailash Mansarovar, you must have a Tibetan special group permit in addition to a Chinese visa. However, you do not need a Tibetan special permit to visit mainland China.
Our Kailash Mansarovar tour packages include the Tibetan special permit visa. The cost of the Tibetan visa is already included in the package price. The Tibetan visa fee for US citizens is USD 360, and the fee for non-US citizens (except Indian and Nepali citizens) is USD 260.
